Station Park Project: Kitchen, Dining, Entry

Today we’re sharing more spaces from the Station Park Project with the Entry, Kitchen, and Dining. These spaces are near each other in an open concept design, so it was important that each room felt cohesive and the selections all worked together. There were also other unique design challenges with each room that we worked through during the design process. This project is all about small spaces that pack big punches, and the entry is no exception. We made the most of the space we had by filling the walls with a large photo grid design to add height while the mirror above a console fills the wall on the other side.

The kitchen began with a white, minimal design and served as a great foundation as we started adding in elevated design elements. This project is a spec home where the finish selections were already made. There were only a few decisions we could implement to change the look of the design without remodeling the space. Lighting is an area that makes a huge impact and can be easily switched out to make a bigger statement to elevate the design.

Dark, modern counter stools added contrast to the white cabinetry and walls while tying in with darker elements found in the rest of the spaces. All white rooms can sometimes feel too cool and sterile, so adding in wood tones through decor elements like bowls, clocks or even cutting boards can warm things up!

The dining space is directly off of the kitchen so the selections needed to coordinate together. The lighting fixture has a more dramatic design that works with the simplicity of the kitchen pendants.

Large over-sized artwork in a grid design filled the large open wall while still keeping the space open to walk around all sides of the table. The soft abstract tones of the large prints feel balanced with the strong shape and dark color of the light fixture that sits above the table.
